Sisters of Charity Mural Draden Insurance Building, St. Albert, AB, Canada This incredible mural engulfs the entire south side wall of the Draden Insurance building measuring 10' x 60'. Part of the "St. Albert Art in Public Places" program, Lavoie was awarded the project after his imaginative primary sketch. This mural was sponsored by the Grey Nuns Society, it was to honor and celebrate their involvement in St. Albert, a legacy that goes back a hundred years. Lavoie wanted to show the nuns in the early years when their were a important part of the education system. The centre of the mural shows a small turn-of-the-century one room school house surrounded by a collage of activity The Mural is first part of St. Alberts Founders court, a walk-thru that takes you from the downtown street to St. Albert Place that features Canada's largest outside Farmers Market as well as the library and museum. Due to its unique location it was impossible to capture the Mural in one view.
